Edit Kolozsvari: My Art with CalleArte

Edit Kolozsvari, an emerging and passionate artist, finds her greatest inspiration in feelings born from the soul and hidden truths of the world. Her creative process is marked by a deep humility and respect for art, where each brushstroke becomes a silent language that transcends words.

Her style, shaped by painful memories of the past, seeks to make violence against women visible. With monochromatic tones and dramatic contrasts, Edit captures the wounds of the soul and the hope of liberation. Each of her works becomes a powerful message that invites reflection and action, reminding us of the transformative impact of art. For Edit, painting is much more than a means of expression; it is a spiritual experience. Each work is a window into the most intimate secrets of her being, a reflection of emotions and thoughts that desire to be shared with the world. Her approach to the canvas is an act of respect and admiration for art, aware of her place in a global community of artists who inspire without the need for words.

As part of her experience with CalleArte, Edit will have the honor of giving a special talk alongside Azulino, the stylized blue rat that is the symbol and official mascot of CalleArte. Azulino represents resilience, inclusion, and creativity, as well as a critique of elitist art. For the artistic community, Azulino is more than an emblem: it’s a reminder that art should be accessible, inclusive, and in service of authentic expression.

Winning CalleArte’s Flash Promotion represents a great honor and a unique opportunity for Edit. This platform not only allows her to share her art with a wider audience but also to create connections with other artists and viewers. For Edit, CalleArte is a space that enriches her artistic journey, opening new perspectives and marking an important milestone in her professional development.

Azulino: What inspires you to create your works? Tell us a bit about the process behind your art.

Edit: What inspires me when creating my works is being able to show the feelings that are born from my soul and the hidden truths of the world. For me, the process reflects humility and respect towards art: each brushstroke is a part of what cannot be expressed with words, but which I wish to share with the world.
My artistic style has been shaped by painful memories of the past, with which I seek to make violence against women visible. The dramatic contrasts of monochromatic tones capture both the wounds of the soul and the hope of liberation. My works are warning messages, silent but powerful reflections of the world’s pain, inviting people to look and act.

Azulino: How did you discover your artistic style and what message are you trying to convey with your work?

Edit: Painting for me is not just a means of expression; it is respect and humility towards art, before which I bow every day. When I take the brush, I not only apply paint to the canvas, but I try to reveal the feelings, thoughts, and hidden truths that are born from my soul. In each stroke, the humility with which I address art is present, aware of being part of a much greater force, along with millions of artists who impact others without words. The magic of painting lies in sharing with the world that which perhaps cannot be expressed in words. Each work is a piece of the secret that lives in me and that I wish to show to the world. I approach the canvas with respect and humility to transmit the wonder of art to those who contemplate it.

Azulino: What does participating in CalleArte mean to you and how do you see the impact of this opportunity on your artistic career?

Edit: Participating in CalleArte is a great honor and inspiration for me. This platform gives me the opportunity to show my art to a wider audience while creating connections with other artists and viewers. I feel that this experience not only contributes to my professional development, but also opens new perspectives that will enrich my artistic journey in the long term.
